Portraits of Japan

It's hard to believe summer is here! It seems like springtime just sprung, and here we are in full swing with summer weddings and already starting fittings with our fall brides. Working in the bridal world, we're always planning ahead and working towards things in the future, so time does seem to blur. But I'm so grateful that part of my job involves looking at photographs of my gorgeous brides and dreamy wedding inspiration. These images from one of our favorite Japanese stockists, Plume, remind me to pause and linger over the beauty that surrounds us in every season. Scattered with pale blush cherry blossoms and embroidered roses, silver and ivory branches and leaves, wearing this romantic mermaid silhouette is kind of like becoming Springtime herself! It was designed as part of my Four Seasons collection, and this dress was meant to be the epitome of spring. I love how the floral appliques frame the neckline, and for our brides in Japan, we made the plunge just a bit more modest by adding a few more blossoms. Lined in pearl silk (our lightest shade of ivory, kind of a soft off-white) this open back wedding dress is perfect for a garden wedding in ANY season. The contrast of that pop of red in the chairs, and this fabulous floral wallpaper really tell a gorgeous textural story. The dress itself has layers upon layers of French embroidery. Starting with the outer ecru vintage lace design, which is featured on that sheer back and customized neckline (the original design has a deeper plunge). Peeking through the sheer tulle is our multi-colored dusty rose and sage green floral embroidery design. And finally, the gown is lined with our sumptuous silk charmeuse in a vintage shade of Porcelain. This couture fabric has such depth, it's a bit like a painting, as is our beautiful bride photographed by Coco Fleur! With sheer long sleeves, and a vintage lover's vibe, Pearle makes a perfect choice. Blush silk lining, along with tiny seed pearls and a hint of rose gold metallic thread woven through the ivory, this dress has so much texture and detail. This location is also a perfect spot for couple portraits, and Plume is offering this space as an option for their clients! Something you want to consider when choosing your venue, is all the added value beautiful interiors can add to your photographs. Of course we often get so focused on the ceremony, which we should, but the other details, like first-looks, and couple portraits are often some of your most treasured moments (and photos!) as well.
