I love it when couples have an aesthetic and they carry it through. In this case, we've got a bit of dark academia mixed with enchanted forest, and as you'll see, these warm woodsy tones mixed with pops of golden light are what fall wedding dreams are made of. Read on to see our beautiful real bride photographed to perfection by Love + Wolves. Amanda chose our Shenandoah gown. Over my 20+ years of working with lace, trust me, I've seen thousands, but this one is truly unique. The geometric motifs have a bit of a bohemian 1970's vibe, and that deep, scallop edge is a beauty. When I design with lace, in many cases, the lace can really inspire the dress. I play with how to place the scallops and motifs, so that they flatter and flow along the body. With this gown, a long sleeve was a must, ending with a fitted cuff past the wrist. And when draping the back, those scallops just arranged themselves into a stunning keyhole open back. Of course, an epic train had to be the finishing touch. Amanda put her personal spin on the styling with those beautiful velvet slippers and a romantic tousled do.
On to the ceremony, sunlit portraits in the forest, and the reception. Beautifully planned by Harlene Events, I love the muted florals by Freckled Floral Co. All the choices feel so cohesive to the venue, to the surrounding elements, and to the couple themselves. When I go through our brides photos it really feels like being there. You get a sense of the day, of the couple, of the feelings that were felt, and although each wedding is unique, they all share a simple truth - love is really the whole point.
There's nothing like sunbeams streaming through the forest, and there's nothing like a wedding. A day to celebrate the two of you, and the love you've been so blessed to find. Soak up all the beauty, all the love, and just enjoy this time - that's what I tell my brides. The day will go by in a blur, but with photos like these, you'll be able to relive it and on those days that are not so magical, that maybe throw you some challenges or some heartache, you can step back into this time to remember what really matters - your love. Wishing these two a lifetime of walks together hand in hand.
