Summer is in full swing here in Southern California, and living in my Los Angeles bubble, I sometimes forget that our summer is actually the southern hemisphere's winter! Hence...Christmas in July was born. This shoot planned by
Alicia Creative and photographed by
Moose Studio featured on
Glamour and Grace is full of bright reds, crisp whites, and the most vibrant greenery, so I can't help but think of the holiday season. And if you're planning a winter wedding, this shoot is filled with inspiration...and our stunning
Raven gown!
This gorgeous bride wears our beloved Raven gown, perfect for a festive event. The red and pink flowers are delicately embroidered onto black tulle, creating a bold statement for my not-so traditional brides. Although this gown is still very much in the bridal realm as she's lined with luxurious pearl silk and a layer of the finest sequin fabric to sparkle in the light, and shimmer through the night.
Although Raven is one of the most unique and non-traditional gowns in my collection, there's a reason she's stayed on the line for so long... brides love her! And yes, it is a black dress, but my brides aren't afraid of this kind of beauty on their wedding day! When you add a beautiful bouquet, like the one from
Peonies and Petals, a dramatic veil and hairpiece, there's no questioning who's the belle of the ball, or should I say...bride of the ball!
Fun Fact: Raven has a long, dramatic train (longer than you see in these photos), but this dress was specifically shortened for Carrie Underwood to wear on the red carpet for the
Time Magazine 100 Most Influential People! When it comes to your dress, we can customize the length of your train from a simple sweep, to dramatic cathedral length. And whichever length you choose, we'll add a simple yet stunning bustle to pick the dress up off the floor for dancing and effortless celebration.
I love all of my brides and support them in whatever gown they choose. The only rule I have for choosing your wedding dress, is make sure it expresses who you are...and if that means a touch of poetic mystery, then let that shine! I do have a special place in my heart for those who go with something extra colorful and unexpected. Truthfully, I just love when my brides decide that feeling like themselves on their wedding day is more important than what the latest bridal trend report says, or what's popular on social media. Can we be bold enough to be ourselves? I think so, and here are just a few examples of some amazing Raven brides.
