Brides in Blue

Brides in Blue

The color blue has had a connection to weddings for centuries, and you're probably familiar with the "Something Blue" part of that little bridal rhyme. With many different meanings, including love, purity and fidelity, this color has stood the test of time and seems to sneak into this special day in one form or another. This really works in my favor as designing with color is well, sort of my thing! Whatever the color means to you, it's bound to make a lasting impact. Here are a few of my favorite brides dressed in blue. Photos by: Kelly Brown Photo
Jessica chose a favorite from my Gothic Angel collection, the Eden gown. The A-line gown features blue silk which enhances the champagne floral vines as they cascade down the long train and meet at the scalloped trim hem. The illusion neckline is painted with shimmering thread and a darling rose, keeping the look feminine and romantic. Jessica decided to switch up the original design by adding long fitted sleeves and I just loved creating this one-of-a-king dress for her! Jessica and Kelsey are just adorable and their wedding truly looked magical. Photos by: Hannah Rosie Photography
Bari and her honey tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in 2020. Covid couldn't stop their love, so they opted for a low key ceremony with a small group of family and friends. Even though their event was smaller than anticipated, that didn't stop Bari from wearing her gorgeous Eloise wedding gown! This strapless, sweetheart beauty is a favorite among CP brides as it's the perfect balance of bridal tradition with a unique flare. The delicate floral lace sets the perfect canvas for the blue silk to shine through, and the scallop trim and silk buttons complete the look...and also the sneakers on everyone are amazing! Colleen found that French blue and silver embroidery was more her style, so she chose the gorgeous Horizon gown for her wedding, This dress against the greenery is truly the most beautiful contrast, and the textured embroidery against the Chantilly lace underlay is another match made in heaven! Our Baby's Breath Veil is the perfect addition to this dreamy look and for that stunning bridal fashion moment. This is how you do classic with a twist! Photos by: Andi Hatch
I love when my brides are adventurous, and Julia is a perfect example! These two love birds were married in the beautiful Yosemite surroundings with nature as their witness and by the looks on their faces, I think they had the perfect day. Wearing the stunning Whitney gown lined in blue silk, Julia didn't just go bold with her lining color, but do you see this last photo?! The gorgeous Butterfly Veil adds the perfect romantic touch and shows off that beautiful illusion floral embroidered back.

If you're looking for a sign to go with that blue gown... this is it! So many different brides, different dresses all in blue, and each one of them tell a different bridal story. I can't wait to help you tell yours!
