First Look at a New Collection

The ideas for a new collection begin months, even years before. Sometimes I'll have a concept or a spark of inspiration, and I'll save it; let it simmer and roll around in my dreams before it takes all of my focus and intention to bring it into being. And then, after we drape and sketch, pattern and sew, a new collection is born! As I write this, we're packing it all up and heading to New York to debut these beauties during NY Bridal Fashion Week. When these dresses were just in their early stages a few months ago, I sent these two off to be photographed by Jeremy Chou and Krystin of K Bella Events who designed this dreamy preview of things to come... A touch of Aquamarine in this strapless sheath silhouette layered over ivory and gold embroidery, adorned with tiny seed pearls and metallic gold thread. The long, scalloped hem train is a beauty! Detachable sleeves are a perfect way to enhance this dress...I always love a beautiful sleeve! This pair evolved a little since these photos were captured. Be sure to follow us on Instagram to see the end result! To add to the opulence of this collection, Designs by Ahn designed some utterly romantic florals in hues of blush and pink. Contrasting with gold accents, this palette tells a beautiful story for our bride.
Jeremy Chou has photographed my gowns many times, and the results are always stunning, so when he called to say he wanted to put an editorial together, I sent him these still-in-the-works gowns. This is just the beginning...the gown above has an updated detail to look out for too! Although this iridescent sequined embroidery with her graceful floral neckline is beautiful as is, I had a bride recently visit us at our salon who sparked an idea that was perfect for this dress! When I create each gown, things often evolve and change as the collection takes shape. As the launch date approaches, it's a balance of planning all the details while still remaining open to inspiration and breakthroughs...kind of like planning a wedding, right?! My new collection will make its debut at NY Bridal Fashion Week in just a few days. Salon buyers from around the world, and the fashion and bridal press attend this to-the-trade event. It's been 3 years since we showed in-person in NY, and I am so excited to be back! In some ways it was good to have some time away, time to rest, to reassess, to find my muse once again. I'm relishing in the art of creation, and I can't wait to share it all with you soon. For you brides-to-be, these dresses will begin arriving in salons early next year, and will adorn our brides for weddings in the summer and fall of 2023.
