Windswept Saratoga

Windswept Saratoga

Sometimes we want to control things because we want them to be “perfect.” I know I’m guilty of this trap for sure…it comes into play when I’m designing a dress, placing the appliques just right, or directing a photo shoot, and arranging the lace train perfectly. And often this compulsion is totally necessary, and part of the reason why a gown looks amazing, or an event comes together without a hitch. But sometimes, you’ve got to let it go…planning your wedding is all about details, and we strive so hard for the unattainable, that we can forget the magic of a windswept moment, of hair blowing in the breeze, of the raw, unedited love that brought you two together in the first place. These images remind me that there is such beauty in the natural, the moments in-between, when the sun is warm, and the wind is blowing, and maybe your hair isn’t perfect, but you look damn good anyway.
