Adorned with Jewels and Lace

Adorned with Jewels and Lace

There are so many ways to adorn our brides...with lace, with embroideries, with jewels...how about all of the above?! I chose the name "Adorned" for my latest collection because these are not minimalist or plain dresses; they are intricate, detailed, and yes, adorned. My view is, you have one day to be a bride. One day filled with unforgettable moments and memories that will last a lifetime. One day to be your most breath-taking self as a bride. Let's adorn you in beauty... Gold Embroidered Wedding Dress Filligree by Claire Pettibone Gold Embroidered Wedding Dress Filligree by Claire Pettibone Gold Embroidered Wedding Dress Filligree by Claire Pettibone The Filigree gown has some very special adornments, starting with those sleeves! Flowing bell sleeves of French embroidery made of metallic thread in the palest shade of gold are edged in a graceful scallop edge on this light-as-air tulle, and the cap is inlaid with Guipure embroidery. I named this dress after the intricate metal work known as filigree in the jewelry world. This couture fabric follows a regal motif of gold and silver scalloping along the soft A-line skirt flowing to a gorgeous long train. The embroidery is further embellished with tiny, clear sequins that add a touch of shimmer to this graceful gown. To top it off, the plunging neckline makes the perfect frame for our Adorned Necklace. This 3-strand custom piece in collaboration with Vanessa Mellet Jewelry is available as seen here with Quartz Crystals and freshwater pearls set in 18K Gold vermeil. Gold Embroidered Wedding Dress Filligree by Claire Pettibone Adorned Neckless Wedding Jewelry with Amythest Wedding Dress When designing this special piece, the idea was to drape precious jewels across the back. I love the idea of an open, low back, and what more inviting place for some jeweled embellishment? Clasps are hidden underneath our lace flowers, so the necklace can be easily worn and removed. Above, you see the Amethyst version with a total of 19ct of Pink Amethyst gems along with a few tiny Garnets. And after the wedding is over, the necklace can be worn for anniversaries, or just date night for years to come...and then maybe one day passed down as a precious heirloom. The idea of adornment plays a part in every culture throughout history, and I love finding ways to incorporate meaningful traditions in a modern way.
Amythest Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Amythest Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Amythest Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Speaking of Amethysts, when I chose the colors for this delicate French embroidery, and the end result was the most delicious shade of violet, the name for this gown just had to be Amethyst. A beautiful open back, pretty lace shoulders, and a flowing embroidered skirt with an intricate long train, this gown is both opulent and understated. And as sometimes happens as I design my collections, one dress leads to another. In this case, I wanted to create a sister gown in the Ivory colorway, and so Amulet was born. Dramatic cape streamers made of chiffon and embroidery, along with a more simplified skirt. Insets of embroidery at the waist and hip draw the eye up to the beautiful bodice. It's hard to pick a favorite, so we'll see what our 2023 brides think! Can't you just imagine our brides running through a garden, or field, and into their lover's arms for some epic moments? I can! In fact, as any bride I meet will testify, I am always thinking about your photos. Since I am lucky to dress so many brides, I look at a LOT of wedding albums! So when I design my collections, I'm not only thinking about how the dress will make you look and feel, but also how the gown will photograph. This shoot with David Abel was one for the ages. He really captured so much movement and beauty. It's so important to choose a photographer who can come through under any circumstances. Trust me, your wedding day is not a time to skimp on your photographer! Sevigne Couture Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Sevigne Couture Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Sevigne Couture Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Sevigne Couture Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Sevigne Couture Wedding Dress by Claire Pettibone Sévigné (pronounced sey-vee-nyey) is a type of bow brooch popular in the 17th and 18th centuries named for a member of the French Court of Louis XIV, the Marquise de Sévigné. Made of French embroidered point d'esprit, this off-the-shoulder strapless tiered lace empire silhouette is both vintage inspired and utterly modern. The crystal beaded empire waist is further adorned with chiffon bows, and detachable sheer rushed sleeves complete the ensemble. Our brides are always looking for something unique...and I am all for it! I've always been a bit of a rebel in the bridal world, and I like to think that I've helped pave the way for more acceptance when it comes to individuality in weddings. I truly believe that every bride should choose a dress that expresses who she is. If that means jewels dripping down your back, or sleeves fluttering in the breeze, or embroidery trailing behind you as you walk, I'm here to bring that vision to life. We'll be showing the entire Adorned Collection at our upcoming Trunk Show January 6th through 15th. Be sure to book your appointment, spaces are filling up!
