Creative Specs and Rates

Large Square (right column)

  • 250×300. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 20k (maximum) file size.
  • Displayed on the right column:
    • Upper square position: USD$750/month or USD$190/week (rotating).
    • Lower square position: USD$700/month or USD$180/week (rotating).

Skyscraper (middle column)

  • 125×600. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 40k (maximum) file size.
  • Displayed throughout the site.
    • Upper skyscraper position: USD$950/month or USD$240/week (rotating).
    • Lower skyscraper position: USD$900/month or USD$230/week (rotating).

Small Square Button (middle column)

  • 125×125. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 20k (maximum) file size.
  • Displayed throughout the site: USD$400/month or USD$110/week (non-rotating).

Rectangle Button (middle column, or right column)

  • 120×80. GIF, JPEG, or Flash. 25k (maximum) file size.
  • Displayed throughout the site (end of the columns):
    USD$200/month or USD$60/week(rotating).

Text Links

  • Displayed in the ‘Advertisers Links’ areas throughout the site:
    • Middle Column text links: USD$100/month or USD$30/ week (Per Text Link). Approximately 25 characters per Text Link (spaces included).
    • Right column text links: USD$100/month or USD$30/ week (Per Text Link). Approximately 60 characters per Text Link (spaces included).

Additional Specs

  • No expanding, floating, pop-up, or in-stream ads.
  • 30-second animation (maximum).
  • Ad with white background must have a 1-pixel border (minimum).
  • ALT tags may contain up to 50 characters (including spaces).
  • Sound must be user-initiated (on-click) with clearly identified play and stop controls.
  • Flash frame rate must be no greater than 12 frames per second.
  • A default GIF must be provided for users without Flash or JavaScript.
  • All public policy, advocacy, political or candidate advertising must be clearly identified on every frame.

Custom arrangements may be available upon request, and are subject to a premium. All ad space is sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Content of Advertisements

Advertising is suggested to pertain to similar styles and references as the Butterflies brand.

Payment

Payment for all insertions must be made in advance.
